Lin legend grows with comeback victory over Raptors
Taipei, Feb. 15 (CNA) Just when the legend of Jeremy Lin was about to be doused with its first dose of reality, the Taiwanese-American point guard delivered more magic for the New York Knicks, leading them to a 90-87 comeback road win over the Toronto Raptors.

Down 86-77 with four minutes to go, the Knicks pulled back to within three on the strength of their defense, including three Iman Shumpert steals, before Lin took over.

He pulled the Knicks even on a three-point play in the lane with 1:05 remaining, and then hit a dramatic 25-foot three pointer in the final second to give his team its sixth straight victory.

Lin, starting his fifth consecutive game, finished with 27 points on 9-20 shooting and 11 assists. It was Lin's second double-double of his career.

Though the game was not broadcast live in Taiwan Wednesday morning, local cable TV stations provide updates and show crowds gathered in local bars cheering Lin on, a sign of the explosion in his popularity in Taiwan.

Such turnouts at sports bars for prominent athletes have been rare, generally limited to outings by pitcher Chien-ming Wang when he starred for the New York Yankees and last year during his comeback with the Washington Nationals.

The Knicks return home Wednesday night to play the Sacramento Kings.
