Taipei, Oct. 16 (CNA) World No. 1 female golfer Yani Tseng of Taiwan missed her chance to secure her seventh LPGA title of the year at the Sime Darby LPGA tournament in Malaysia Sunday, finishing second, one shot behind the winner.
Tseng finished at 14-under 270, while Choi Na Yeon of South Korea shot 15-under 269 to bag the title.
Tseng had a chance of victory after the first nine holes, when she sat temporarily in third place with a 32. She fired four birdies on the 1st, 3rd, 6th and 7th and a bogey on the 2nd.
At one point, she moved forward to draw level with Choi in first place in the later part of the final round.

Choi won a purse of US$285,000, while Tseng's prize was US$176,197 after pushing her winnings this year to US$2,396,838 in the LPGA Hana Bank Championship in South Korea .
Meanwhile, Azahara Munoz of Spain finished in third place with 12-under 272, while Pak Se Ri of Korea was fourth with 10-under 274.
