Leofoo Selected as the Preferred Bidder for the “Qilan and Mingchi National Forest Recreation Area ROT Project” Expanding Business and Unleashing New Long Term Revenue Drivers
(中央社財經訊息服務20251224 15:41:34)Leofoo Tourism Group (2705) announced today (December 23, 2025) that it has been selected as the preferred applicant for the “Qilan and Mingchi National Forest Recreation Area ROT Project” initiated by the Veterans Affairs Council. The project covers a site area of more than 130 hectares, including Qilan Forest Recreation Area, the Mingchi National Forest Recreation Area—known as the “Pearl of Northern Cross Island Highway”—and Asia’s largest Divine Trees Garden. Located in Datong Township, Yilan County, the site is only approximately a 1.5 hour drive from Taipei City. Operations are expected to be officially handed over as early as March 2026.
Leofoo Tourism Group stated that it will leverage over half a century of practical experience in tourism, hospitality, and wildlife conservation, working alongside government agencies and academic institutions. The Group plans to extend its conservation philosophy from wildlife care to forest ecological stewardship, with the core objective of establishing “the most comprehensive ecological conservation area in Taiwan,” setting a new benchmark for sustainable tourism.
At the same time, the Group will integrate existing resources to fully develop the “Taiwan Northern Cross Island Ecological Golden Triangle,” linking Leofoo Village Theme Park in Guanshi with Qilan, Mingchi, and the Divine Trees Garden. This will form a complete ecological tourism corridor extending from urban areas into mountainous forests, spanning low to mid high altitude mist forest zones. Courtyard Taipei, strategically located with 3 rail transit and bus connections, will serve as a key transportation hub for domestic and international travelers, enhancing overall travel efficiency. This strategic move will not only expand the Group’s operational footprint but also inject significant momentum into long term revenue growth for the next three decades.
President of Leofoo Tourism Group, Mr. Jerome Lai, emphasizes the Group’s strong commitment to consumers and employees. Following the handover, Leofoo will gradually upgrade local facilities while adhering to the principle of “no construction stoppage, no service interruption,” ensuring safe and stable service. Regarding human resources and workplace development, Leofoo affirms that existing park employees will be retained preferentially and will enjoy a comprehensive benefits system that exceeds industry standards—including employee share ownership trust, lodging and dining privileges, as well as systematic professional training and career development programs—demonstrating the company’s commitment to long term operations and sustainable employment.
Leofoo Tourism Group continues to expand its asset portfolio and operational layout. In addition to the “Leofoo Hotel Serviced Commercial Building” in the Songjiang Nanjing business district, scheduled for completion in 2026, the Group is also actively evaluating potential overseas investment targets to gradually expand its international presence. Successfully securing the Qilan and Mingchi project—with potential for future world natural heritage recognition—aligns with the Group’s dual growth strategy of “Asset Development × Tourism” established earlier this year. This achievement will not only deepen the foundation for sustainable operations but also create long term growth momentum with a global perspective.
