Bank of Taiwan Achieves Strong Results in AI Talent Development, Building New Momentum for Cross-Domain Smart Finance
(中央社財經訊息服務20260701 17:45:56)Bank of Taiwan has achieved strong results in its AI talent development initiative. Over the past two years, the bank has implemented a two-stage systematic AI talent training program, successfully cultivating 28 AI application professionals capable of AI project planning, as well as 15 advanced AI talents with capabilities in programming and model development.
To showcase the training outcomes, Bank of Taiwan held the AI Advanced Talent Training Achievement Presentation Ceremony on June 16. Jong-Yuan Ling, Chairperson of the Board, personally presented completion certificates and awards. The event also featured a keynote speech by AI expert Yi-Chin Tu on “The Latest Trends of AI Applications in the Financial Industry,” jointly marking an important milestone in the bank’s AI talent development journey.
In response to the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technology, Bank of Taiwan launched a two-stage AI talent training program in 2025. Through a progressive training mechanism, the program aims to cultivate employees with both AI literacy and AI application capabilities. The first stage, “AI Talent Training Program,” selected elite participants from 24 departments at headquarters. Through 30 hours of training, participants built foundational knowledge in artificial intelligence and strengthened cross-domain integration skills through hands-on AI tool practice.
To further enhance practical capabilities, the bank launched the second stage, “AI Advanced Talent Training,” in March 2026, selecting 15 employees with strong learning potential. This stage provided 51 hours of advanced, practice-oriented training. Participants were required to write programs, process data, build models, and complete project-based reports, thereby developing their ability to use data science methods to solve business problems.
At the achievement presentation ceremony, the Chairperson encouraged employees to continuously enhance their professional capabilities and actively apply AI to improve the quality of services. Participants also presented their AI innovation proposals, demonstrating the learning outcomes and innovative capacity generated by integrating business knowledge with AI applications.
Looking ahead, Bank of Taiwan will continue to deepen its AI talent development initiatives and gradually build a comprehensive talent development system. The bank aims to strengthen organizational innovation capacity, cultivate cross-disciplinary talent with both financial expertise and AI capabilities, and continuously enhance competitiveness in intelligent financial services.
