(中央社訊息服務20231129 11:10:34)Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan has been invited to co-host “Eat4Environment 2.0 Challenge” with 3Z Global Centre from Bangladesh this year. Through the connection from social media, the initiative encourages global citizens to choose vegetarian dining, engage in personal cultivation of fruits and vegetables, visit community gardens, and participate in eco-friendly workshops. By actively involving individuals in various enjoyable activities that contribute to environmental friendliness, the campaign has responded from various countries worldwide. The purpose is to enhance understanding of the benefits of eating vegetarian meals for the planet and also convey the three-zero vision (zero carbon emissions, zero poverty, and zero unemployment.) proposed by Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Professor Muhammad Yunus in 2006.

As part of the series of events, Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan conducted an online workshop, featuring Xiang-Yi Hsu, co-founder of Little Cosmos Regenerative Farm, as the speaker. The workshop focused on "How to Start an Eco- Friendly Community Garden," sharing insights on implementing eco-friendly farming methods and experiences in managing sustainable farms. Participants from various countries such as Bangladesh, Gambia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, Taiwan, and others joined this global initiative. With the hope of expanding experiences from Taiwan to an international scale and creating environmental sustainability through diverse partnerships.

The president of the foundation, Philippa Tsai expressed that Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan is once again collaborating with the 3Z Global Centre to organize “Eat4Environment 2.0 Challenge” this year. This collaboration not only showcases the commitment of the foundation to promoting zero carbon emissions but also fosters international partnerships to collectively advance sustainability goals. The CEO of the foundation, Juno Wang added that “Eat4Environment 2.0 Challenge” aims to encourage more people to choose eco- friendly foods and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to the realization of the three-zero goals in everyday life.

As part of the” Eat4Environment 2.0 Challenge” events, Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan organized an on-site community garden visit at Little Cosmos Regenerative Farm on December 10. Participants had the opportunity to experience the warmth of the land and the connection to food cultivation, gaining insights into the diverse possibilities of environmentally friendly practices through food and agriculture education.
