Grand Master Hsin Tao, the founding abbot of Taiwan-based Ling Jiou Mountain (LJM), was conferred Myanmar’s highest national educational achievement award in the capital, Naypyidaw, on March 2. The ceremony, presided over by Myanmar’s national leadership, recognized the Master’s two decades of contributions to charity, education, and healthcare.

Reflecting on global turmoil and ecological crises, Grand Master Hsin Tao—a former war orphan—dedicated the honor to world peace and ecological harmony. He stated that the award is a tribute to all sentient beings, emphasizing that "all things are interdependent and mutually symbiotic." He noted that resolving global conflicts must begin with inner peace.

The Master’s work in Myanmar focuses on transforming impoverished rural areas. Through the Global Family for Love and Peace (GFLP) and UN collaborations, initiatives such as the "Monsoon Day Care" and the "Maha Kusala Yama Monastery Sramanena Orphan School" have provided trilingual education and Buddhist studies to displaced children, nurturing them as "Dharma seeds" with international perspectives.

As a rare bearer of the Triyana—encompassing the Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana traditions—the Master’s dedication has been repeatedly recognized. Following Myanmar’s "Outstanding Contribution to the Propagation of Buddhism Award" in 2006 and the "Outstanding Meditation Teacher Award" in 2010, he received the traditional title of 'Agga Maha Kammathānācariya' in 2014, the nation’s highest honor for meditation masters. These milestones were followed by a 2nd-Class National Education Achievement Award in 2023, culminating in the recent 1st-Class honor. This high-level recognition advances the development of the "University for Life and Peace" (ULP), providing new momentum for its mission to protect the environment. By integrating "Spirituality as Ecology," the Master continues to collaborate with global experts to explore the symbiosis between spirituality, technology, and nature, guiding humanity toward a sustainable future.
