April 11, The Museum of World Religions (MWR) marked its 25th anniversary with a distinguished visit from His Eminence Cardinal Silvano Tomasi, accompanied by Rev. Fr. Carlos Caetano, C.S., Vicar General and General Treasurer of the Scalabrinian Congregation; Rev. Fr. Marcio Toniazzo, C.S., Executive Director of the Scalabrini International Migration Network; and Rev. Fr. Bruno Ciceri, C.S., Regional Coordinator of the Stella Maris Scalabrinian Catholic Network.
Cardinal Tomasi, 85, serves as Special Delegate to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and previously represented the Holy See as Permanent Observer to the United Nations. He shares a longstanding connection with Taiwan.
Venerable Master Xian Yue, CEO of MWR, welcomed the guests and guided them through the Pilgrims’ Way into the Great Hall of World Religions. The delegation expressed admiration for the museum’s detailed architectural models of major sacred sites. They also visited the exhibition “The Vatican Through a Monk’s Eyes,” currently on view in the “Nature In Me” Gallery.
During the visit, Venerable Master Xian Yue introduced the "Spiritual Ecology" initiative championed by the museum’s founder, Grand Master Hsin Tao. The initiative advocates for a profound shift in how we relate to the Earth, calling upon all religions to become collective guardians of our planet's ecology.
“The museum manifests the spiritual core of diverse faiths and contributes meaningfully to dialogue, mutual understanding, and peace,” Cardinal Tomasi said.
Rev. Fr. Carlos Caetano added, “This is a magnificent institution that makes the potential for interfaith cooperation visibly tangible.”
As a symbol of friendship, Cardinal Tomasi received a calligraphy scroll reading, “Love is like flowers and seeds,” presented as a personal gift from Grand Dharma Master Hsin Tao.
The visit concluded in a warm and constructive atmosphere, underscoring a shared commitment to strengthening interfaith dialogue and advancing Spiritual Ecology as a bridge for global understanding and cooperation.
