(中央社訊息服務20260211 15:02:36)"Climate! Film! Action!"—a youth environmental media education program driven by the Ling Jiou Mountain Buddhist Society’s (LJM) Global Family of Love and Peace (GFLP)—has been selected for the New York City government’s "Youth Action 50 (YA50)." Standing out among over 200 organizations, GFLP’s selection symbolizes the seamless integration of founder Grand Master Hsin Tao’s "Spiritual Ecology" philosophy into international public action platforms.

Guided by the vision of an "Interdependent Community of Life," the program encourages youth to embody the spirit of "Diversified Symbiosis and Mutual Co-existence." Over the past four years, it has utilized imagery and storytelling to empower the next generation to transform inner reflections into a language that resonates with society.

As a member of the YA50 cohort, GFLP leverages NYC municipal resources, including expert mentorship and cross-disciplinary workshops centered on Service Learning. From February to May, the program participates in the "Youth Service Expo" and a pivotal Annual Summit, where youth-led innovative ideas in climate action and creative media may be integrated into public policy considerations.

"Selection for YA50 provides a vital platform where youth voices are truly heard and seen," stated Lu Chih-lan, Director of Education and Training at GFLP. "When young people recognize the intrinsic value of their perspectives, they develop the genuine motivation to remain committed to their cause."

The program extends environmental education from theoretical learning to active practice through experiential workshops. Key initiatives include the monthly "Under the Moon: Urban Ecologies" themed exchanges and collaborations with New York University (NYU) and Hudson River Park Environmental Education Center. Through these diverse efforts, LJM GFLP continues to foster self-directed learning and proactive public participation, paving the way for a sustainable and harmonious future.
