(中央社訊息服務20251021 17:49:48)To promote the “Major Crop Registration System” and encourage farmers to utilize the “Yunlin Digital Agriculture Mobile Platform” to register their crop planting area, the Yunlin County Government has introduced special incentive measures to increase farmers’ willingness to submit reports, promote real-time data collection and application efficiency, strengthen the county’s agricultural information decision-making foundation, and thereby stabilize crop supply and demand and reduce market risks. On Aug. 26, 2025, the county government held a “Instructional Briefing and Workshop on Digital Course Promotion” at the Yunlin County Farmers’ Association. The meeting brought together representatives from farmers’ associations in all towns and cities across the county to jointly discuss strategies for promoting the principal crop registration system. Through the courses on digital tools and practical operation, the government aimed to enhance grassroots promotion effectiveness and expand the utilization of the system.

County Magistrate Chang Li-shan (張麗善) stated that according to agricultural statistics from 2024, Yunlin County leads Taiwan in terms of cultivated area for garlic, peanuts, and corn, fully demonstrating Yunlin’s importance as a major agricultural center. In response to global climate change and the dramatic changes in the agricultural production environment, the county government continues to promote agricultural digitization, focusing on the registration of major crops. By accurately monitoring the distribution and cultivation conditions of each crop, the government strengthens early warning mechanisms and policy planning, assists farmers in rationally adjusting their planting structures, and enhances overall agricultural risk management capabilities.

County Magistrate Chang further emphasized that digital agriculture is not only key to industrial transformation but also a core strategy for enhancing Yunlin’s agricultural competitiveness. The county government will continue to encourage farmers to actively utilize the Yunlin Digital Agriculture Mobile Platform, working together to build a new model for smart agriculture and safeguard Yunlin’s reputation and advantages as a nationally recognized smart agriculture hub.

The county government’s Department of Agriculture explained that the major crop registration system helps provide real-time information on the area and types of crops planted in each township. This serves as a crucial basis for the government to monitor agricultural conditions, analyze market supply and demand, and formulate agricultural policies. In conjunction with the crop early warning system, it can effectively prevent supply and demand imbalances caused by overcultivation of a single crop, ensuring stable income for farmers and sustainable development of the industry.

This digital course also introduced several agricultural digital application tools, including the Ministry of Agriculture’s “Agricultural Natural Disaster On-site Photography App,” which helps farmers record disaster damage images in real time and expedite the reporting process. The county government also promoted the “Yunlin Digital Agriculture Mobile Platform,” which provides real-time agricultural weather warnings, agricultural product price inquiries, farmland think tank information, and the official “Yunlin Agricultural Information” LINE account to help farmers keep abreast of weather trends, market conditions, and crop warning information.

The county government’s Department of Agriculture stated that it collaborated with the Yunlin County Farmers’ Association to hold the first digital curriculum promotion and seminar at the Beigang Township Farmers’ Association on Sept. 11 of this year. The dates for teaching seminars held by farmers’ associations in other towns and cities were announced on the county government’s Department of Agriculture website (https://reurl.cc/7VEyGd) on Sept. 1. Farmers are encouraged to register with their local farmers’ associations to continue to deepen their operational capabilities in the principal crop registration system and related digital tools, comprehensively enhance the efficiency of Yunlin County’s agricultural digital transformation, and create a diverse and convenient digital agricultural service system.
